The little monkey saying Hello

Last night Andrew and I were lying on the couch when the baby decided to give us quite a show. My belly was making the weirdest shapes and shifting all over the place. We would have loved to show everyone but we totally forgot that our camera had a record feature. Anyways here are some little kicks and punches from our little monkey that we managed to get at the end.

Cuddle time again.

Just an update

I had another doctors appointment this week and things went well. All of the tests came back great and I have only gained 20lbs!!
Andrew arrives home on Sunday and we are planning to make arrangements to go to the hospital to get a tour of the maternity ward and meet some of the nurses.
With Christmas around the corner we have been receiving parcels in mail. Well my sister Andrea has decided that the baby needed a name if she was to send him a Christmas gift so she has called him Ralph. I must say, I got a good chuckle when I saw a present addressed to "Baby Ralph". When people ask me if I have picked out a name yet I say that his name is "Ralph" and they always give me such a strange look. Its hard to keep a straight face. Speaking of names we do have 3 picked out but are going to wait until we see his little face to properly name him. Just don't ask us what the names are!!!!!
Baby Ralph is lying sideways in my belly and instead of getting little kicks, my belly has started taking on new shapes. Its so neat to sit there and watch as the belly moves around. I can also feel little body parts, just not sure which parts they are!

Since my health is a little better this week and I'm not feeling as much pelvic pain as I did before I decided that now is probably the best time to get some things done around the house. I finally finished painting the nursery (trim, closet and door) and as soon as the New Year hits I will be getting some molding, more trim and light fixtures to finish everything off. As well as all of the rest of the goodies that I need before the little man makes his way into the world.

Carseat

Our new carseat just got delivered! For some strange reason everytime we look at it we get all excited and once again I think the cat likes it.

What happens when you're bored

How to torture a cat:
Since Krynger likes to get into all of the baby things we thought it would be funny if we dressed him like one to!! We got a good chuckle out of this one!

Doctors appointment

Andrew and I had another doctors appointment today. The good news is that the baby sounds great and he is very active and I have only gained 14lbs according to the doctor (I say otherwise!). The bad news is I am still getting alot of pelvic pain so the doctor has decided to take me off of work for the rest of the pregnancy. Maybe I can get some things done around the house now, right?

WARNING!! We bought a camera!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we just bought a new camera. We will finally have no more problems taking pictures anymore so there will be lots of pictures to come!!

How to make a crib

Is this the start to something bad??

I think we might have a few problems!!

Its crib making time!

Andrew and I decided to build the crib together this week. Even though we still have lots of work to do in the nursery like painting, trim and molding and new flooring it will have to wait until we have a few extra dollors in our pocket.
We wanted to do this as a team...Andrew, Chantelle and even Krynger!

Doctor's Orders

Just a quick little post before I head out. I just got back from the doctors and he has taken me off of work for a week. He said that he would like to take me off for good but wanted to play it by ear. The pelvic pain is still going strong as Im having a hard time getting around today, I have a mild case of depression and Im still throwing up in the morning. I must say, this pregnancy has been far from being fun. Why do people make it seem like its this beautiful walk in the park. You never hear anything bad until it happens to you.
Well hopefully I can take some of this time to pamper myself and then try to get things a little more organized around the house before the baby comes.

Bonding time

Everyday Krynger need to have his bonding moment with the baby. He loves to snuggle up to my bare belly.

Bear slippers

Andrew and I went to Prince Rupert on saturday to do some visiting with some friends and a little shopping on the side.
Look what we got...
Hand knitted bear slippers which I fell in love with and we also bought a valco stroller but in all black.

Wispers to the baby

The second night that Andrew came home we were lying in bed and he had his hand rubbing my tummy feeling for the little one. He leaned over and wispered to the baby "I know that we have not yet met but I just wanted you to know that you and mommy and the two most important things in my world right now". He then leaned down and gently kissed the belly.
As he looked up at me I had tears running down my check. I dont think that I will ever forget that moment.

Winter has been saved thanks to my big sis!

You know your getting big when you physically cant do up your own jacket. I own 2 winter jackets and I cant do either of them up because of my growing belly. Well today my very kind and wonderful sister Andrea went to Old Navy and bought a maternity jacket for me. Mind you I do have to pay her back but it was on sale and it was one that I really liked. She also picked up a few tops which Im in need of.

Thanks big sis!!!!
Im so excited to try it on!

Visit from the parents

My mom and Rick were here this weekend for a very short visit. They have never stayed with me so I spent the entire week cleaning house, buying new bed sheets and towels and doing up a welcome basket full of fruit, crackers and munchies. The only reason that they came was to go to a funeral but atleast I got to see them for a few hours and they got to see me pregnant. The first night we sat on the couch together and mom rubbed my belly for over an hour. It was such an amazing feeling to have some attention towards the belly. This pregnancy has been very lonely since Im by myself 2-3 weeks out of every month. They left monday and I spent the first few hours crying like a little baby but I will get to see them at Christmas.

Halloween pictures!

I have some pics!!

Knock, Knock. Who's there??

Friday night I got home from work at 1:30 in the morning. I was so wide awake I puttered around the house for a bit before I went to bed. Lying in bed mainly on my tummy I felt a weird sensation in my belly and wondered...could it have been?I havent felt the baby at all so I turned over to my back and put my hands on the lower part of my belly. Then it happened again! With a smerk on my face I was telling myself not to get to excited and that it probably wasnt the baby. It happened for the 3rd time and then I started to question myself again. Am I sure? Was it the baby or just me??All of a sudden..BOOM, BOOM!!! Its was so hard and I felt it inside and outside. I started crying and laughing all at the same time.
I hopped out of bed to grab the phone. Here I was phoning Andrew at 2:30 in the morning(3:30 his time) to tell him that the baby was kicking. After the phone call I lied there again and for 2 hours the baby was using me as a punching bag!! I didnt get to sleep until 4:00am!!!I guess my baby felt the need to miss the whole "flutter" stage and go straight to the kicking and pounding. Andrew comes home Monday night, I cant wait for him to feel this! What an amzing feeling! It feels like a lava lamp in your belly. Even last night I was so excited to lie in bed and feel him kick away at me.

Ultrasound pictures!!

We finally had our ultrasound and what a wonderful experience it was. The baby weighs 14oz and measures 25cm from head to toe with a heart beat of 141. The technician had a hard time getting pictures because the baby wouldnt stop moving around and she also asked us if we wanted to know the gender. She managed to get a shot of "between the legs" and...

WARNING!!! If you dont want to know the answer, close your eyes and turn your head away but you know that someone will let it slip to you so you either find out here or from someone else. Your choice!

Well only a fool wouldnt be able to tell, there it was in plain view for all the world to see. Its a BOY!!!

We are thrilled to announce that there will be a little boy joining us around Feb 11th.

What a deal!

First off, I would like to say sorry to "Grandma" Burgomaster for what Im about to show you. I know that you told me that you had bought alot of sleepers but how can you resist a deal?

The Thrift Store in Terrace was having a bag sale today. Fill up a green garbage bag of used clothes for only $8.00!!

I think I went sleeper crazy but from what I have been told, you can never have enough sleepers. I tried to go as neutral as possible but there are a few things that are either girl or boy.

I found sleepers and undershirts (onesies), pants, jackets, sweaters, hats and 2 bibs.

Cant go wrong for $8.00!!

Bittersweet moment

I just got a call today to tell me that our ultra sound has been cancelled. I guess the lady who does it phoned in sick!
On the brighter side, we have it re-booked for the 3rd of October and Andrew will be in town!!!!
Hopefully we dont get bumped again.
Whats 1 more week of waiting right?

Just a reminder for Sept 26th

I just realized that our ultrasound is in 3 days!! Oh how exciting!
I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I can.

All about the paint

We had found a beautiful lime green that is shown in a few places around the house and thought that it would look great in the nursery. As soon as we tried it out in the baby's room it turned into a pukey pea green. How disappointing! Anyways we finally found a shade of green that would work.

Exciting weekend

This weekend didnt really start off to well but I received such a wonderful phone call. Andrew's parents phoned to tell us that they we purchasing us a crib and highchair for the baby! We couldnt have been more shocked!! With such wonderful news I knew that I had to get the nursery painted ASAP. I finally got the ceiling done which was something I was trying to put off but I knew that if I got it done then I could start on the colour.

We decided to go with the lime/apple green. Its a kids room, you have to have some fun with it right? Well it took me 5 hours but its done. The only thing left is to paint all the trim white, paint inside the closet, put in a closet organizer and then some new flooring. After that, its all about the decorating!!
