What a deal!

First off, I would like to say sorry to "Grandma" Burgomaster for what Im about to show you. I know that you told me that you had bought alot of sleepers but how can you resist a deal?

The Thrift Store in Terrace was having a bag sale today. Fill up a green garbage bag of used clothes for only $8.00!!

I think I went sleeper crazy but from what I have been told, you can never have enough sleepers. I tried to go as neutral as possible but there are a few things that are either girl or boy.

I found sleepers and undershirts (onesies), pants, jackets, sweaters, hats and 2 bibs.

Cant go wrong for $8.00!!

Bittersweet moment

I just got a call today to tell me that our ultra sound has been cancelled. I guess the lady who does it phoned in sick!
On the brighter side, we have it re-booked for the 3rd of October and Andrew will be in town!!!!
Hopefully we dont get bumped again.
Whats 1 more week of waiting right?

Just a reminder for Sept 26th

I just realized that our ultrasound is in 3 days!! Oh how exciting!
I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I can.

All about the paint

We had found a beautiful lime green that is shown in a few places around the house and thought that it would look great in the nursery. As soon as we tried it out in the baby's room it turned into a pukey pea green. How disappointing! Anyways we finally found a shade of green that would work.

Exciting weekend

This weekend didnt really start off to well but I received such a wonderful phone call. Andrew's parents phoned to tell us that they we purchasing us a crib and highchair for the baby! We couldnt have been more shocked!! With such wonderful news I knew that I had to get the nursery painted ASAP. I finally got the ceiling done which was something I was trying to put off but I knew that if I got it done then I could start on the colour.

We decided to go with the lime/apple green. Its a kids room, you have to have some fun with it right? Well it took me 5 hours but its done. The only thing left is to paint all the trim white, paint inside the closet, put in a closet organizer and then some new flooring. After that, its all about the decorating!!

Our take home outfit

Our take home outfit for the baby. How cute is this?!! A little bunny outfit with little bunny slippers and its so soft.

Baby Sling

I plan on wearing a baby sling so this is the one that I bought.

Nursing Pillow

Next month Im hopefully going to order this nursing pillow aswell as the matching change pad cover. The pillow will be in chocolate brown and the change cover will be green unless we find out the sex of the baby then I can get pink or blue.

Oh how weird

Sept 17, 2007
Im pretty much at my 19th week and the last 2 days something weird has been going on. It feels like the baby is running a marathon in my belly. Its so exciting to know that I can start to feel the movement of the baby. If he/she is this active now, we're in trouble!!

Baby bedding??

We have been searching online at many places for bedding and its a harder decision than we thought. We found a few we really like and the price is great but they wont ship to Canada. The other bedding that we have found is either really expensive or really ugly and "80's" style.
This is one of the girly bedding that we like. I will post pics of boy bedding at a later date.

Doctors appointment

Sept 13,2007
We had another doctors appointment today and I must say, I really like him. The great thing about this doctor is that he can also deliver the baby instead of us having to go see another doctor in the last few weeks of the pregnancy. We also have an ultra sound booked which is kind of bittersweet. We are so excited because this will be our first but Andrew will be away in Grande Prairie so he will miss it. Im going to see if I can find a cam-corder to tape it so he can watch it later.

Choosing a colour for the nursery

Thu, Sep 13, 2007
Well we have finished the 2 coats of primer in the nursery and now its on to making a choice about the final colour. Since we still dont know what we are having (boy/girl) we are going to stick with a shade of green. But what shade? Should we go a sage green which is very calm and inviting, such a relaxing feeling when you walk in to the room. Or should we go with an apple green? Something fun and bright, modern and funky.

18 weeks and counting

Tue, Sep 11, 2007
We have finally hit the 18th week. The belly has gotten bigger but the morning sickness is still there. We moved to Terrace BC as of the first of the month and we are loving it. Its so nice to have a place to call our own. But before we can fully unpack we have alot of painting to do. 2 coats of primer in each room and then 2 coats of colour and that includes the ceiling!!

We still have no camera yet so Im sorry but there will be no pictures to post. Hopefully soon though!

Fun filled mornings

Wed, Aug 29, 2007
This morning was another fun-filled morning with a little morning sickness and a few tears and laughter. Andrew was in the shower and I was standing in the bathroom as I just finished dealing with the morning sickness. I opend the door to see my cat (Krynger) walk by with a mouse in his mouth. I jumped in the shower screaming and crying but laughing at the same time b/c of my reaction.
Andrew was in the middle of washing his face when he turns around to see me fully dressed, hair and make-up done standing next to him making so god-awful noises. The poor guy had to get out of the shower dripping wet and chase down the cat and the mouse.

I guess our life is never with a dull moment!!

Update

Mon, Aug 27, 2007
Sorry for such a long delay on updating this site but with having to visit the family for a week and trying to pack up the house for moving we havent spent much time on the computer.

Today we are 16weeks. We had our second visit at the doctors and we finally got to hear the heartbeat. The first thing we want to clear up is that NO, we are not having twins like everyone has been saying. We told the doctor that twins do run in the family but she could only find 1 heartbeat. Hearing that fast paced rhythm for the first time put huge smiles on our faces, it seems so real now. We were also told that the baby is VERY active!!

Im just waiting for some photos to be sent to us and they will be posted on here soon (our camera got stolen last month so we have to rely on other people).

Baby Gifts

Mon, Aug 20, 2007
We just recieved our first baby gifts. Two of our dear friends in Grande Prairie gave us a baby blanket, a blanket buddie and a pack of wash clothes. Thank you Karen and Chris, it was very thoughtful of both of you! We will miss you lots but keep in touch.

We also received a change pad from a "secret" friend. Thank you (we know who you are but we shall not say).

We bought a house!!

Thu, Jul 25, 2007
We bought a house!!! We are so ecited to find out that we can finally have a house to call our own. We will be moving Sept 1st to Terrace BC and we have lots of room for friends and family to come and visit. If you would like to have the address please email us or give us a call.

The wonders of morning sickness

Sun, Jul 1, 2007
This enitre week has been filled with morning sickness. As soon as I wake in the morning until I go to bed I feel nauseous. I think its all the movement that actually makes me feel sick. Today has been pretty good though, I feel a little nauseated but it's the mood swings that are driving me crazy. Poor Andrew, one minute I'm happy and then the next minute I'm crying or I'm mad at the world. Personally I think he's getting a little use to my mood swings now but I'll let him play his video games upstairs and I will hide-out down stairs out of his way.

Happy Belated Fathers Day

Sat,June 23, 2007
I had taken a test first thing in the morning at work on Saturday. Believing that it was going to be negative to my surprise there were 2 lines. We're pregnant!!! I had to work until 5:30 that day and did not want to break the news to Andrew over the phone. Having to wait until the end of the day to tell him just about killed me. I talked him into going out for dinner after work and as we pulled up to the resturant I pulled a card out of my purse.
'Im supposed to give this to you" I said. He was a little confused and kept asking who it was from. He took the card out of the envelope to see that it was a Father's Day card. "Is this from the cats?" he asked. He was convinced that the cats had given him a card. He opened up the card and sat there either shocked or confused for a good 3 minutes. Inside the card it read "guess what?' with the test taped to the other side.
"Hunny, we're pregnant!" I said as I reached over and touched his arm. He's eyes started to tear up and he turned to me and gave me the biggest hug grinning ear to ear.
