Rylen's first doctors appointment

Rylen had his first doctor's appointment today and things went great. He is now a wopping 8lbs 8.5oz!!!! He's gaining weight like crazy but he also eats non stop! When the doctor was checking him over Rylen decided to pee everywhere but we didnt really notice until we were getting him ready to go home.
Everything else checked out fine and he is a very healthy little boy.

Many uses for Windex

Just a cute little story I had to share...
Grandma Liz and I were trying to get some photos of Rylen and we thought that it would be a neat idea to have Rylen naked on Andrew's chest. As we were trying to take some photos Andrew cried out " I think he just poo'd on me!"
I moved his little legs and there was a little golden fleck resting on Andrew's belly button. Andrew started to panic and was telling us to get the baby off of him but we couldnt stop laughing.
As I wrapped up Rylen to keep him warm I looked over and noticed Andrew was in our hall closet spraying Windex on his belly.
"Windex kills everything" he told us.

Who is Rylen?

Andrew and I feel very blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby but we are so amazed on how good he is. He cries when you have to change his diaper only because he doesnt like cold wipes on his bum. He LOVES to eat and is gaining weight fast! On Monday he was already 8lbs 1oz which most babies dont gain that much weight until they are atleast 2 weeks old.
I have also discovered that Rylen loves to have massages. Every night around 7pm him and I have massage time. He lies on the couch and I rub his long legs for over an hour.

Rylen Taylor

WE ARE A FAMILY!!

Monday the 18th was our special day chosen to bring little Rylen into this world. At 8am I went for my first gel application only to have it repeated again at 2pm. By 8pm I was having mild contractions and was sent home with a shot of demerol. The contractions started to get stronger as the evening progressed and we decided to head off to the hospital at 1:30am Tuesday the 19th.
As we got to the second floor and came off the elevator I felt another contraction coming on and then all of a sudden I felt a POP! I started to giggle when I realized that my water had broken. Mom ran like lightening speed down the hallway to get help. A nurse arrived with a wheelchair and we headed on our way to where all the action would take place.
At 3am, realizing that this was not a false alarm we decided it was best to phone home and wake up Andrew so he wouldn't miss the action. It was a good job we did because by 4:30 I was 4cm dilated. As you know I'm always so impatient and wanting to get things done fast so 1hr later I was at 10cm to the shock of the doctor and nurses.
As there was no time to calm this wild woman with drugs I had no choice but to deal with what was about to come. 41minutes of hard pushing and little Rylen entered our world.
We couldnt be more happy and blessed to have such an amazing little one to begin our family.

Doctors appointment at 40.5weeks

We are going to have our little guy next week unless of course he decides that the weekend would be much better.
We will keep you all informed.

Baby Monitor Scan

The top scan would be the heart rate and the bottom would be if I was having any contractions. The nurse took the first scan print-out which had better readings on it. Every time you see a jump in the reading either the baby was moving around or I was having a contraction.

When Andrew and I found out that we were pregnant he had found a wooden sign with a quote on it that he loved. I also loved the quote but didnt really care for the sign as it was small and painted blue and at that time we had no idea on the sex of the baby.

After we had found out that the baby was indeed a boy I started my hunt to find the sign or something simular. I found a lady in the US that offered to make a custom wall quote for me.

Even though I made most of the decisions in the nursery I wanted Andrew to feel like there was a little piece of him in there.

Due Date Feb 10th

Well Sunday has come and gone and no baby! We went to the hospital to get a check up and they hooked us up to a monitor. They said that I was having contractions (I wasnt feeling them) but the cervix is still hard.
Hopefully we will see some changes this week but who knows.

Where has the time gone?

I cant believe how fast the time has gone. This Sunday is our due date but I have a feeling that we will be over due. I guess the count down has finally begun. Thursday we go for another doctors appoinment so we will find out if there are any changes.
The little one is still kicking up a storm in my belly and making me as uncomfortable as ever. My morning sickness has started again but instead of just having it in the mornings like before I seem to be waking up in the middle of the night to be sick. But when I think about it, its only a few more days to 2 weeks of this and then we are onto another adventure. I cant wait to meet this little guy!!

Doctors appointment at 38.5weeks

Well theres not much to report this week, its just the waiting game from here on out. All of my usual tests came back great and the babys head is still down and in the same postition but has not yet dropped. The doctor checked my cervix and theres no change so I cant really see anything happening in the next few days but you never know.

We have finally agreed on a name for the little one after 6 months of disagreeing about it but we will share it once he makes his entrance into this world.
