Mmmm, Yummy!

Ahhh...the joys of having your little one getting into things. Andrew and I walked into the kitchen to find this..
.

Rylen had poured himself a glass of straight Ribena! I have no idea how he got the bottle but he was kind enough to put it back on the counter with the lid on. If you don't know what Ribena is, its a blackcurrent concentrate that you mix with water. 20% Rinena to 80% water. Rylen was drinking it straight!

Big Boy Room....Step 3

The chocolate brown closet...seriously, I was craving chocolate after this!!

I had a hard time with this colour. It was the same kind of paint as the blue but it was so streaky!! I couldn't get one clean coat on it. When I did the second coat (which was needed) it created lots of little air bubbles. Thank goodness most of this will be covered with a closet organizer, books, toys and clothes.

This picture is with the second coat of blue.

From the start we had problems with the paint. We bought 3 cans of CIL (1g of brown, 1g of blue and 1.5g of blue). The small can of blue I used first- no problems. When I opened the second can of blue it had completely separated and we only had it for a week! I tried mixing it but it was hopeless so Andrew took it back to the store. With some hassle, they gave the can a good old shake and sent Andrew on his way.
That night I finished the first coat.
The next day I was determined to finish up the blue. I opened the can up and it had separated again!! This time wasn't as bad but it was the only chance I had to get the painting done so I crossed my fingers hoping that it was going to turn out.
The next problem was with the brown as I had mentioned above.
Tomorrow I will paint the rest of the closet (white trim and drawers) and finish off the walls with a little brown.

Big Boy Room...Step 2

Time to paint!!

This was the first coat of paint. We bought the 2in1 paint (with primer) and it says that you only need one coat.

I say "if you really dont care how your paint looks, use 1 coat. If you want it to look good, 2 coats!"

Rylen's big boy room... Step 1

It's time for Rylen to have his new big boy bedroom!
After ripping apart the room the closet was the part that was to be tackled first and oh, what a pain!!
I didn't realized that the previous owners used oil paint on it so when I painted it last time, it all peeled off.

Rylen was so kind to help mommy with the "not so fun" task for scrapping off the paint.

After a quick little sanding, we were ready to get things painted!

My sweet little boy!!

~~~Rylen finally said to me last week "I love you" Oh, it melted my heart!!
~~~One morning Rylen woke up at 4am so I brought him into bed with me for a snuggle. We snuggled up underneath the covers when he asked for a "mommy hug". I gave him a little squeeze when he sat up, looked at me and said "I'm so happy to see you" Ahhhh! I told him that i was happy to see him too and he replied "Mama, you're so cute!"

What a scare!

Rylen was helping me do laundry today and I went into the other room to grab something. Thinking that he was just playing around with the buttons on the washing machine I didn't think he could get into to much trouble.
WRONG!!
You know when there is that "silence"? You know your little one is up to something. I peeked around the corner and didn't see Rylen anywhere. I called for him 2 times with no response.
Bursting my way through the swinging door I found him hiding in the corner between the freezer and shelf unit with a bottle of Pine Sol!
He had sprayed the Pine Sol all over the front of his hair and he was dripping with it!!!!!!!!!
I grabbed him so fast, ran upstairs and stuck his head under the tap.
Rylen didn't seem to complain at all and his eyes weren't red or anything so I'm assuming that he didn't get any in his eyes.
I had no idea that there was a bottle of Pine Sol in the laundry room since I have never use the stuff before.
Andrew got a good talking to about Toddlers and leaving chemicals lying around when he came home from work!
