I finally have a few moments to do a quick update and the few moments consist of Rylen snoring away on my chest and me typing with one hand.
So whats new... Since last week Rylen has been non stop trying to roll over. Every time we put him down he rolls over to his side. And every time he rolls over you can here mom in the background squealing with excitement and delight.
Last week while I was feeding him he was looking up at me and as I looked back into his eyes I noticed that they had changed colour, I started to cry.
For the first time since his birth I finally saw a little of me in him. Everyone says he looks like his Daddy even though I cant really see either of us in him. To me he looks like his own little person but when I saw his eyes I knew they were mine. It is the most beautiful feeling knowing that there is a little part of you in your baby. I must be quite the sap cause even now every time I see his eyes, mine start to tear up.
His hair is getting longer and has turned strawberry blonde and he loves to get all chatty first thing in the morning. Every time you talk to him he stares at you as if he was studying every movement and sound that you make. When you stick out your tongue at him, he will try to stick his out. When you make noises he will try to copy the movement of your lips and repeat the sounds that you make. And when you smile at him to let him know that he got it right he gets all excited.
He also has very ticklish feet and gets very excited when he's in his crib watching his mobile go round and round.
The fabric carrier that I had bought the other day is the best thing EVER!!! Rylen and I have been going for walks non-stop since buying it. A stroller is great for long walks and walks to the park or beach but with the carrier you can go anywhere. Its easier when shopping and walking all over town or even quick little walks to Tim Hortons. Andrew even used it the other day walking to the video store. And the best thing about the carrier, Rylen likes it. Its such a nice feeling when you are all snuggled up with him.
A few days ago when I was feeding him I had felt a sharp pain ( you know where). I dismissed it thinking that it was nothing and the next day while feeding him I felt it again. It got me thinking...
Is Rylen teething???
Mentioning it to Andrew and both thinking that it was way to soon we started to question it. Rylen has been chewing on his hands lots and since he seems to be growing faster then most baby's his age these kind of things shouldn't really surprise us. Right?
Well guess what I found today?? Yes, that's right. 2 little white teeth wanting to make an appearance.
For how fast he seems to be growing we sometimes forget that he's still only a little baby. But to be totally honest I sometimes don't want him to grow up so fast. I"m enjoying this time when him and I get to snuggle on the couch together listening to the little noises that he makes while dreaming and where I can hold him in my arms and rock him to sleep.
