Meat Eater

Yesterday we took Rylen to Northern Health to get his 6month shots. He only cried for a few seconds which was way better then last time. As we sat down with the nurse she was telling us all about giving solid foods to your baby. She said that they actually want you to start out with meat as the first food and not to really puree anything but only to mash it up. She told us to feed Rylen the same food that we are eating (within reason of course).
I guess it was something to think about.

So today Rylen and I headed off for our 3hr walk and went to the Farmer's Market. We always stop by one stand for lunch and they serve BBQ meat sticks that everyone seems to love. As we sat in the park having our snack with Auntie Simone and family Rylen kept on trying to grab at my food. Thinking about what the nurse had said yesterday and talking to a few other moms on our outing I thought that it wouldn't hurt if Rylen tried a piece. As soon as the first mushed up piece passed his lips he had a very confused look on his face and was very unsure at what he had. But he seemed to like it cause he went for more. If I didn't give him some he would start up a little fuss just to get some more BBQ pork passed his lips.
