We have a new floor!!

This was the old floor that we had before the mini flood. Who ever put this in had no idea what they were doing!! The floor never ran all the way underneath any of the appliances- just half way and the back of the appliances were leveled off by using scrap pieces. Every piece of laminate would shift enough so there would be gaps between the pieces.

After ripping up the flooring, this is what we found underneath. Very old and stinky vinyl, the kitchen smelt like an old musty house!
If we ripped this off (which would be quite a job) we would have to put down more sub flooring but instead we put the sub flooring right on top.

This is our new floor!!
We still don't have everything put back together since we are still cleaning off all of the dust and trying to do some de-cluttering. The floor actually runs down the back steps onto the landing at the back door. Now all we have to do is paint!
